Sending Pocatello. The time has come! We are sending half of our staff and many of our key leaders to Pocatello, ID to plant a church at Idaho State University! God has been so good to provide for this team as well as for our church in Cheney as we send them. We are joyfully sad as we say goodbye to some of our deepest friends. Please pray that the moving and settling process would go smoothly for this team and that God would do amazing things through them.

Summer Projects. We are sending over 40 students from our site on various summer projects in two weeks. Students will be in San Diego, Pocatello, East Asia and some staying in Cheney. The goals of summer projects are focused discipleship and kingdom impact. Please pray that students would be transformed through these projects and that they would get to see many in their cities decide to follow Jesus.

Continued Provision. This summer is going to be a key time for Anna and I to make connections and invite more people to be a part of our support team. We will be working to raise an additional $1500 in monthly support over the Summer. Please pray that God would connect us individuals and families that are passionate about college ministry and who might want to invest in us.
Thank you for faithfully giving so that we can be on the campus full time! God has been providing for our needs through you and benefits while I am in school. Because I am graduating soon (praise God!) we will be working to raise an additional $1500 in monthly support over the summer.
The best way that you can help us meet our goal is to connect us with like-minded people who we can share our story with. If any names come to mind, please REPLY to this email and let us know!

What's been happening?

The school year is coming to a close, but things are far from slowing down. We've hosted baptisms, leadership events, vision nights, etc., and are now getting ready to send a ton of students on summer projects!

Baptism Service, Round 2

We had the joy of hosting our second baptism service of the quarter! Eight students invited their friends and family to watch them proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and be baptized. The room was PACKED OUT (standing room only). Most of these students decided to follow Jesus this year.

Every student writes the story of how they met Jesus and reads it in front of the whole crowd; a crowd full of believers and non-believers. This is a powerful moment, as we hear each story go from brokenness to redemption. Each person ends their story with, "My name is (blank) and I have decided to follow Jesus." That is always followed by a roaring cheer.

One of my favorite stories is Riley's. Riley grew up in a godless home. His family has always been atheist. Sam (to the left) faithfully pursued a relationship with Riley for an entire quarter. After a while, Sam asked if Riley was interested in reading the Bible with him, and he said "yes." They read the Bible and discussed it for a couple of months until, at Resonate Conference, Riley decided to follow Jesus! Sam is one of our student leaders. Juan (to the right) did the same thing with Sam just two years ago. Juan had the honor of baptizing Riley. What a picture of multi-generational disciple-making!

Vision Night

One of the things you have been praying for is maturity in leadership in our student leaders. As we send the Pocatello team, the need for more leaders has become very apparent. We have been praying for God to fill the gap and raise up more leaders.

Last Sunday we hosted a "Vision Night" to share our hopes and dreams for next year with students. We do this before Summer because many students are gone for a few months. We invited all students engaged in Village Families to come to this event if they desire to be a leader in our church.
If I am being honest, we were a little worried about how low the turnout would be. Sending your best leaders to Pocatello feels risky, and the gap that they leave is huge.

To our surprise, over 50 potential leaders for next fall showed up! That's 50+ people that said, "I want to take ownership in leading our church to have maximum impact for God's kingdom at EWU." Praise God! We are so encouraged and excited about what God is going to do through all of these leaders.
Our little girl is one year old! Also known as punkey-dunk, boo-ba, bug-bug (and more), Juliet turned one on May 7th. Last Sunday we had the joy of dedicating her life to the Lord with our church family at Resonate Cheney. She blesses us every day, and we are so thankful to be her parents!
